This past weekend, Jonathon and I photographed Riley + Kaylee’s beautiful wedding right around the corner – in the Georgia countryside. We’ve grown to know and love everything about Georgia, but things start to feel TRULY authentic when you drive deeper into the state rather than closer to the coast.
You know I love my Georgia beaches, but dirt roads are just authentically who we are. Because of that, we felt right at home among the busy family and friends that were serving Riley + Kaylee relentlessly to piece together a gorgeous ceremony and reception.
At this point, we have been to more weddings than we can count. None are alike – I promise you that! We have the unique experience of visiting new venues, meeting people, and settling into the “inner circle” of two (new to us) families that are about to be joined together through vows. We observe tears, we laugh together, and at the end of the day… We remind ourselves that we were not actually special guests of any kind at this wedding, but everyone HONESTLY makes us feel like we are! Not every wedding feels exactly this way, but Hickox Baptist Church – YOU did. What an absolutely welcoming assembly of believers! We were so grateful to serve Riley + Kaylee alongside of you. It was very clear to see the love that this body of believers has for one another. I was reminded of Jesus’ command to love and serve on another in the church and the evidence that the people here are the real deal!

Riley + Kaylee – Thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your day. Getting to know the both of you was such a joy for us. I’m absolutely SOLD that engagement sessions are a “must-have”. Our session on Jekyll Island was the best way to get to know one another and I honestly felt like I was meeting up with a sweet friend on their wedding day. We loved laughing with you, watching your emotions get the best of you, and just witnessing you both enter into a covenant bond among family and friends. We were right there alongside them and it was just so precious to us.
Also, this sparkler shot at the end is an all time FAVORITE! 🔥
