A breathtaking union among the towering oaks of Southeast Georgia

I am SO excited to share this wedding day from Newell Lodge in Folkston, GA. This was my first time shooting a wedding at this venue and I was immediately taken back by the gorgeous overhang of southern oaks and Spanish moss. I mean, the views were literally iconic to our area! Being from the north myself (Wisconsin!), I’ve NEVER tired from seeing the grandeur of these majestic trees. They really do scream “Southern Charm”, don’t you think?!

I have to admit – My connection with Jenn + Allen is mostly because with my husband, Jonathon, and his very, very close group of friends from the time that he was in the Navy. Although Jonathon isn’t in the Navy anymore, we still live in a military community and are able to serve our old friends as wedding photographers. Many of our old friends have decided to call Southeast Georgia home, just like us!

Because of Jonathon + Allen’s connection, I was able to serve the most beautifully hearted bride. She is the best mixture of confident and polite. I can see her heart putting Philippians 2:3-5 into practice and, even though this day was about her and Allen, I can see her natural tendency to serve others before herself.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others as more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves which is in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2:3-5

That’s just the kind of people they are!
