A Touching County Wedding in Locust Grove, Georgia
This was a special one for us! Molly and Jonathon are good friends from nursing school. They went through some long, hard days together on their way to finishing their degrees alongside their friend, Misty. (I WISH we could have gotten the 3 of them together at the wedding because their friendship is just the sweetest!) A year has gone by since graduation and it almost feels as though no time has passed at all – yet, SO many life changes have happened in the last year for Jacob and Molly! We were absolutely thrilled to be invited to photograph their wedding.
Jacob and Molly’s wedding was beautiful and intimate. Everywhere you looked, personal touches were tucked and hidden to remind Jacob and Molly of their deep family history – years and years of love stories in their own families! The barn that made up the backdrop of their vows and ceremony was built by Molly’s grandfather who just recently passed away. Having his handiwork as the focal point of their decor meant the world to them, I am sure of that.
Being a part of a covenant union between two believers is our greatest desire as wedding photographers. Nothing in the photography business beats this joy! Jonathon and I have the greatest fulfillment in celebrating two believers committing themselves to each other before God. Behind Jacob and Molly, a cross was fastened to the barn door that had the strand of 3 cords as to represent their commitment to bind their love with Christ as their focused center.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 says “And though a man may prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him – a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
and their officiant, Zack Little, sums it up perfectly in his message at the ceremony. He reminds us of God’s purpose for marriage. Here’s what he says.
“And here is the amazing thing: As you hold fast to one another and fulfill your God-given roles, you will paint a picture with your marriage of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God designed the marriage relationship between a man and a woman to be an earthly, temporary representation of a much greater reality – the marriage between Jesus and His church.”
Amen to that! Our hearts are leaping out of our chests when we are able to be a part of a marriage ceremony that is focused on God’s true plan for marriage.
Jacob and Molly, thank you for allowing us to be apart of your beautiful day. We pray that these memories are passed down through not only stories of the joy of your day, but also in these images. We want this to be the beginning of a legacy of your own personal love story. Cherish these images, reflect on them and let your hearts feel the immeasurable joy of your wedding day over and over again!
