Get ready, because this is a special one!
The sunlight was bright and beautiful on Derrick and Alex’s wedding day. Choosing portrait locations was a breeze! The venue is owned by the groom’s family and has endless beautiful places to shoot. We were constantly pulled by the scents and sights of early spring in Southern Georgia.
There were a few extremely memorable moments for me – One of them being the ceremony and the pastor’s words. I’ll go ahead and quote him directly, because he REALLY presented a beautiful, biblical marriage ceremony. Jonathon and I were so grateful to hear it! Not only that, but he called for the hearers to examine their own hearts for forgiveness and their need for a Savior. Amazing!
The most distinct characteristic of Christian marriage is that it is intentionally centered on Jesus Christ. Each spouse continuously works to know, love, and obey Jesus, and to follow His example. In this way, husband and wife learn how to express Agape love and remain faithful to their covenant. As they practice the Christian faith together, they move toward each other, growing together in love and unity.

And mostly, the prayers of generations together as the couple sat with their family members and hands were laid on their shoulder’s as the family asked for God’s blessing on the couple’s union. It gave me chills! This part of the day was so powerful. I almost hated to disturb the sacredness of the time by clicking my shutter, but I HAD to capture it. You’ll see those images during the ceremony below! Absolutely beautiful.
Altogether, the day was refreshing. I enjoyed being able to step into Alex and Derrick’s most precious moments and serve them. It was a huge blessing for us – Thank you both for choosing us. Thank you to the Herrin family for calling us to the task! (I use their Christmas tree farm every year for “Tree Farm Minis”!) I’ve grown to love your family!

Our prayer is that you grow in your faith and love for Christ. While doing that, we know you will grow in your love for each other – as has been our own experience over the last 10 years together as a couple. We know that our fellowship together is sweet only because we first have fellowship with Christ. (Classic Pastor Mike Roddy quote!)

Oh, my!!! You truly captured the beauty of the day. I have prayed for this perfect day for Alex for so long and to actually be able to relive the perfect day by looking at your photographs is priceless. I didn’t shed a tear at the actual wedding but being able to slowly process the day through your amazing photographs, I’m sitting here balling my eyes out. Thank you for your patience with grumpy kids, your diligence in finding the perfect angle, your quick finger to snap the best unexpected shots but most of all thank you for loving the Lord and expressing that love through photography. We are honored that you memorialized Alex & Derricks perfect day!!

Absolutely beautiful pictures of a beautiful couple and beautiful day. Alex has had a very special place in my heart for a long time. I’ve prayed many times asking God to watch over her and take care of her. And He did..loving, her and bringing these 2 together..
